A week ago, I received a service call and visited our client in the water treatment plant in Northern California. We have a filter press dewatering the sludge in this treatment plant. It serves a residential community with about 500 single families with a golf course. Our PLC (programmable logic controller) filter press has a capacity of 33 cf with automatic plate shifter for easy use and operate. It operates one to two loads a day and generates about 40% dry solids, greatly reduced disposal costs. It saves the treatment plants about $12K/month compared to past truck hauling sludges and disposal methods.
